“IVORY COAST” Braised chicken

Ingredients
  • 1 chicken
  • 1 onion
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • The juice of one lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground chilli
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Preparation
Remove the chicken legs and cut the chicken into pieces. Prepare the marinade by mixing the onion, ginger and garlic cloves. Pour this mixture into a large bowl and add the stock, chilli, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Mix. Leave the chicken for about 1 hour in the fridge to marinade in this mixture. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and cook the chicken pieces until they are nicely golden. They could also be cooked on a barbecue. Serve with attieké, rice or banana foutou.
