Apple and cinnamon compote

  • Number of portions: 4
  • 6 apples (e.g. Royal Gala)
  • 100g cane sugar
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon

Carefully wash the apples, peel them and remove the pips. Dice.

Pour the sugar and 5cL of water into a saucepan and then add the diced apple.

Cover and simmer on a medium heat for 10 minutes until the apples are soft.

Pour this mixture into a bowl and add the cinnamon. Mash with a fork until you get a consistent texture, leaving a few chunks.

Serve the compote warm or cold.
