“LEBANESE” Fatayer

Ingredients
  • 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry
  • 500g fresh spinach
  • 1 onion
  • the juice of a lemon
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of pine kernels
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sumac
  • Salt
Preparation

Carefully wash the spinach.

In a large bowl, mix the spinach and chopped onion and add a little salt.

Then add the lemon juice, olive oil, sumac and the pine kernels. Mix all the ingredients together so that the spinach is well coated.

Lay out the pastry and cut out circles using a small bowl. Place a tablespoonful of the mixture in the centre of each circle. Close the pastry to form triangles.

Preheat your oven to 180°C. Place the fatayers on a greased tray and cook for 20 minutes. Serve immediately.
